The key to a perfectly steamed brussel sprouts is maintaining vibrant green color while fully cooked through.

- 1 lb brussel sprouts
- 1 cup water
- 1/8 tsp salt
Wash the Brussel sprouts.
Trim the ends and discard outer leaves that come off along with it.
Place in a large enough saucepan. Add water. The water should come up to about 1 inch from the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle with salt. Place lid on top.
Turn on the heat to Medium. Once the water starts boiling reduce to medium low and continue to cook for about 10 minutes total.
The sprouts should still be vibrant green and cooked perfectly through.
Remove lid and serve hot.
